Ep. 10 Future Blanket Plans

Welcome to Ep. 10 of my knitting podcast: Future Blanket Plans. Double digits! Wow!

In this video, I show off the small amount of progress I’ve made on both the Mini Skein 10 stitch blanket and the Scrappy 10 stitch wrap. I also talk about the blanket that I’ll be making for my little brother to be a housewarming gift since he’s recently moved into his new house. (Granted, it probably won’t be ready until Christmas.)

Mini Skein 10 Stitch

I didn’t get much done this week on the MS 10 stitch. Despite saying in last week’s episode that I was going to be focusing more on this project, and possibly shelving the Scrappy Wrap, I’ve done the exact opposite.

I finished knitting up the White Bon Bon, and have tied in the Red one. After this Red one is done, I will officially be halfway through the first package of LionBrand Bon Bons.

Scrappy Wrap

So why did I change my mind on which project to work on? I’m sooooo close to being done with this Scrappy Wrap that I just want it done! Who hasn’t felt like that?

So once I’m done with my craft show inventory knitting for the day, I do 10 rows on the Scrappy Wrap. I’m almost to the corner as well, and almost out of the Bernat Plum Chutney. I will be adding the Bernat Mallard Wood skein once I’m done.

Eric’s Blanket

I don’t know what’s gotten into me recently. When my in-laws bought their new house, I hadn’t planned on giving them my Camouflage 10 stitch blanket, but by the time I was done with it I couldn’t think of a better gift to give them.

What does this have to do with my brother? My brother recently moved into a new house. And I have this desire to make him a blanket for it. I asked for his top 6 favorite colors, and will be knitting squares (exactly like I’m doing for the Pieces Afghan). I have two of the colors in my stash, so I’m going to get started on those. I know how warming gifts are typically given sooner rather than later. Yeah, I’m going to be luckily to have this done by Christmas.

The yarn I’m using is regular Red Heart Supersaver, because that will be the easiest for my brother to take care of.

A double duty present housewarming and christmas. Can you get away with double gifting? I would give it a go.
