Twin Mommy Creations is a small business owned by Ann Mikeal. As her company name says, she is the mother of a pair of rambunctious twins. I’ve known Ann for a few years now, and I can attest to how talented she is and what a fast learner she is.

What got her into crafting?

Honestly, my mom was the reason I got into crafting.  When I was about 6 or 7 years old, I really wanted to make some friendship bracelets, so mom took and bought me the thread and a storage box. We didn’t have the money for the little sorting cards though. That night, while I slept, mom stayed awake and cut sorting cards out of card stock, than wrapped and labeled all my thread… when I woke up I found the box of supplies all organized and ready to go. No matter what project I want to do, mom is always there to help and encourage my dreams.

What types of products does she make?

I create one of kind hand dyed yarns, rovings, batts, and rolags. As well as spindles and stitch markers.

What is her favorite product to work on?

My favorite product to work on is hand spun yarns… the whole process is relaxing.

What is her least favorite product to work on?

I don’t really have a least favorite product to work on. Since I am a very slow knitter, knitting could be considered my least favorite, but I still enjoy it a ton.

What is her most popular product?

My most popular product would have to be rolags. My customers enjoy watching them being made, as well as how easy they are to spin!

Company goal?

My company goal is just too always enjoy what I am doing.  If I enjoy what I create, my customers will always enjoy my products.

My husband and I work t the Texas Renaissance Festival next to a group of weavers who spin their own yarn. It’s really fascinating to watch. What a neat business to have!

Ann usually has a demo or is teaching a class at all the festivals she participates in. I love watching her spin. It’s memorizing.
